The All-New 2006 Hyundai Azera
The All-New 2006 Hyundai Azera
I just bought a new Azera. I didn’t really start looking for a car seriously until about six months ago. I decided that the Azera was the best choice about a month ago, but it took me all this time to get the courage to go ahead and get it. The reason I was so reluctant was because of the Hyndai brand, its image of cheap low quality car. Although I already knew it was a false stereo-type. I live in a very brand-oriented community. Luckily I don’t care what people think … well maybe just a bit. 🙂
The cars in my short-list were the Toyota Avalon, Honda Accord, and Hyndai Sonata. The cars are not in the same category and vary in price, because I have a flexible budget and my priorities were low-maintenance, quality, value and reliability. Thus no American or European cars … no offense 🙂
The Avalon being the higher-end of my short-list was kind of that standard that I held up the others against.
I was a bit worried about the Avalon’s potential caveats, because it was designed and built in the US. Was it up to Japanese standards? …
I read several reviews on the Azera and I found that most reviewers ranked it very close to the Avalon in category, features and quality. When I took a test drive, I think I fell in love. The drive was very smooth, yet tight, and extremely responsive. Although I thought the Avalon’s drove really well, it didn’t like it as much.
In the end, I thought if I buy the Azera I will be getting what I was looking for in the Avalon, yet I will be saving a lot of money.
